Alpine Lake

High in the West Virginia Alleghenies lies a residential and recreational community on 2,300 heavily wooded acres with a pristine lake at 2,800' elevation.  We spent a few snowy days in January at Alpine Lake Resort, about an hours drive from Morgantown, West Virginia, and near Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.  The place seems to be a well kept secret as we were the only two taking advantage of over 12 miles of groomed xcountry ski trails.
