Autumnal Cherry Trees
It was a beautiful day in Northern Virginia today. With the threat of a rainy weekend ahead, I decided to take the metro into DC, camera in hand. The famous Cherry Walk, on the western edge of the tidal basin is quite popular during the weeks when the cherry blossoms are in full spring regalia. How nice it was to see them wearing their autumn colors. Although it is clear that the trees are not quite at peak, there was color enough to warrant my excursion. I enjoyed walking and shooting without the hassle of the crowds and wondered what other opportunities are missed just because they weren't in "season".
