Lake Wigry Poland

In June 2006 we left Lithuania, which had been our home the previous two years. The first stop on our Great European Adventure was to Lake Wigry National Park in Poland. Our hotel was situated in a complex of 17th century buildings in which were housed the former monastery of the Carmaldolite Order. The monastery is situated at the top of a hill and a climb to the top of the clock tower offers a lovely view of the lake as well as the perfect frame for this picturesque church.
